Apparently, since August 2002, the ratings have gone down 40%. What does everyone think about that?

Well, I find this to be rather shocking and apalled by those numbers. It's true, what jimlange said on the main boards is absolutely correct!! Classics dominated for a time and did well and the top brass at GSN are ignoring the loyal and die-hard classics fans. They acquired the Anne Robinson hosted "Weakest Link" for a bargain price and the last couple of years of Chuck Woolery's "Love Connection", also at a bargain rate. The only GSN produced original I think has promise and potential is "Lingo" a very simple five-letter word game (sort of like playing "Boggle" in a sense). Wintuition, hosted by "Double Dare", "Unwrapped" and "Trivia Unwrapped" (both on Food Network), may/may not return for another season. I liked the concept of the game, ask a question from each grade level, then go for the $50,000 prize if you win by answering ten questions correctly in 60 seconds. The only GSN Originals I think has a future are "Lingo" and "Wintuition". "Cram" maybe. You know already, Wren I'm a classics/oldies guy! I'm for great popular music from the past 35 years of Rock 'n' Roll and especially classic game shows! I was so hungry for GSN until I upgraded to digital cable in Janurary 2002 that I want to see an all classics, all the time channel, but I feel like I got shrifted (the short end of the stick). The only times I have GSN is the golden classics in the early mornings and "Black & White Overnight", which I'm the main poster filing those reports every night. So what jimlange said was right on the money! Those of you have/haven't seen the thread, it's great. click here!P.S. Wren? Could you PM jimlange and ask him to join my game show community forum? I don't have any male members, yet. Thank you. The best thing GSN did (so far this year), was the "Big Bucks: The Press Your Luck Scandal" (GSN's first ever documentary), about Michael Larson and his mastering of the PYL boards to outsmart the Whammy and won $110,238! And now, it all comes down to this??

Well, I am an avid classics lover myself, so I find it perturbing that a lot of originals are being shown now. As far as jimlange goes, he hardly ever logs in at the GSN forums, which tells me that he is not online often...I had told him about my own forum a couple of weeks ago, but I just don't think he has the time. I had mentioned in a thread at my forum that I don't wish to hound people to come to my forum, so I just encouraged them to bookmark it and to visit as often as they can.

Yes, I wish GSN had more classics. I don't care at all for Friend Or Foe, Cram, or Funny Money...I watch GSN a lot, but I wish I could see a different variety of gameshows. Many I've never even heard of...

I read on the GSN Boards that "Cram" is off the schedule entirely and the level of classics is now up to about 80% or so. This should make some of the classics fans (like myself) very happy! A handful of the classics occupy the nighttime slot on GSN, which is very good news!!!

I don't care about the ratings.
