Station Serves As Flagship For David Lee Roth’s New Morning Show;
FREE FM “FREE ROCK WEEKENDS” Continues Station’s Influential Music Position
As previously announced, 92.3 FREE FM will move to a predominately talk format to coincide with the launch of David Lee Roth’s new morning show beginning Tuesday, January 3, 2006. Today, the station revealed its complete line-up under the new FREE FM format featuring a diverse group of hosts and a full complement of rock music on the weekends.
“92.3 FREE FM is undergoing a major transition to the industry’s newest format,” said Tom Chiusano, Vice President and General Manager, 92.3 FREE FM. “We’re thrilled with the outstanding lineup of talent that we’ve assembled and look forward to discussions that entertain, and engage the audience.”
Added Chiusano, “Music has always played a central role on 92.3 and we are proud to continue our heritage as one of the county’s best rock stations.”
92.3 FREE FM will broadcast FREE ROCK WEEKENDS every weekend beginning Friday, January 6, 2006 turning a library of 55 years of rock history over to its listeners, DJs and special guests. Beginning Friday nights at 10:00 PM and concluding Monday mornings at 6:00 AM, veteran NY radio talents Dan Neer and Harris Allan along with current 92.3 FREE FM DJ Julie Slater will unleash FREE ROCK WEEKENDS. Listeners and some of the biggest names in rock will be given the opportunity to create their own playlists choosing the music they want to hear on the station.
K-ROCK2, the 24 hour/7 days a week online radio station, will continue playing the latest music from today's hottest rock and alternative artists. The station is accessible at www.krock2.com

The complete new 92.3 FREE FM weekday talent line-up includes David Lee Roth (6:00 – 10:00 AM); JV & Elvis (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM); Penn Jillette (2:00 – 3:00 PM); Leslie Gold (3:00 – 7:00 PM) and Booker, Monday-Thursday (7:00 – 11:00 PM) and Friday (7:00 – 10:00 PM).
In a related announcement, 92.3 FREE FM, formerly WXRK-FM, has changed its call letters to WFNY-FM, effective Sunday, January 1, 2006.
