Wendy Williams paused on her afternoon show over WBLS (107.5 FM) Wednesday to remember Frankie Crocker, the stylish jock who took WBLS to the top back in the 1970s.
Crocker, who died in 2000, would have turned 65 Monday.
Williams talked with WBLS' Jim Weiner, who worked with Crocker on the air. He and Williams recalled how Crocker blended fashion and personal style into his music sensibilities.
They told Frankie stories - he's one of the few radio people who has generated more than Williams - and reminded everyone he helped shape a large part of what's on the radio today.
