Welcome to the Political/Religious Topics Forum! Nice to have you! I have decided to create this forum due to a raging controversy over at the main Boards at GSN's Community site. There has been heated debates there about heated "hot-button" issues raging from: abortion, school prayer, religious "Right-Wing" conservatism and many others. It has come to the attention of their boards to discontinue such topics, so they shut down any topic or debate regarding religion (almost).
Same goes true for political topics. They, too can get Red hot when elections come, people get tossed out of office, scandals break, etc., so they close down any political topic there (almost).
I welcome political and religious topics and/or debates. I'm not doing this cause I'm such a nicer person than the administrators at the main GSN Boards, but I'm doing this out of courtesy to my game show friends and fans.
The forums here I created should be fun, interesting, meaningful and enjoyable and to meet wonderful people with similar likes and interests from all across the United States and Canada.
But, let me serve as a warning to everyone regarding the two issues mentioned. Your debates are welcomed, encouraged but debates does not [/u] necessarily mean to argue and 'raise hell'! I've done that in the past already!
And another thing, name calling, insults (i.e. "you scumbag", 'drop dead', etc.,) will not be tolerated. Everyone has an idea of morality, common sense, what's right or wrong. What may be right to one person, may be wrong to someone else. So, keep it interesting, but don't go off the deep end and attack the person just because his opinions are different than yours.
Religious topics are welcomed and encouraged in the same fashion but with a few points to consider:
Not everyone believes in a God or a superior being. People view God differently in many different aspects and different ways (or not believing in a God or anything at all). A majority has a Bible, but not necessarily everyone reading it, same holds for attending church, most do, and most do not.
So, don't harass, annoy, bother, or attack anyone about not believing in a god, reading the Bible, attending church or not, or participate in any religious activity or cause. If the person chooses not to do any of the above mentioned, so be it. This is not the Middle East, (Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, or Afghanistan) where they kill Christians if they are non-Muslim. This is America, we all have rights/priviledges, beliefs, likes/dislikes, etc.
Failure to comply to these rules will result in a warning. But if arguing, fighting, attacking or abuse persists. I have no other options but to ban anyone from the boards.
So, enjoy the forum, but don't get carried away. If there's a problem with these rules, please write and I'll do what I can to help.
