From the Daily News:
Cuz Brucie may be on air, in orbit
Cousin Brucie may be going back on the air. Popular disk jockey Bruce Morrow, who lost his job last week when WCBS-FM dropped its oldies format, is negotiating with Sirius Satellite Radio, sources said yesterday.
Sirius, like its chief competitor, XM Satellite Radio, is a subscriber-supported network that offers 120 channels, including commercial-free music. Sirius declined to comment.
Morrow, a Brooklyn native, has spun songs for six decades.
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) voiced support for his fellow Madison High School alumnus yesterday and appealed to the radio industry to return Morrow, 67, to work.
"Cousin Brucie is a New York institution, one of the few voices who has stayed with us for decades," Schumer said.
Morrow, inducted in the Radio Hall of Fame in 1988, had been with WCBS since the early 1980s.
He even has a street named after him - Cousin Brucie Way, a part of W. 52nd St.
