Petition to Bring Ross Porter to Dodger BroadcastsPorter Fall-Out. The fact that Ross Porter was not renewed as a Dodger broadcaster after 28 baseball seasons has generated additional responses: KPCC’s John Rabe wrote: “Of course Ross Porter should have been given more respect by the Dodgers, but no one who followed Ernie Harwell's first departure from the Tigers should be surprised.” “As a fellow LARP, and someone who is a Dodger season ticket holder [well, actually my family is], I cannot begin to tell you how upsetting this is to not only see Ross Porter being 'let go' by the Dodger brass, but even more than that, the way it was handled was an absolute disgrace to say the least,” emailed Mike Hobbs. “We expect more as Dodger lifelong fans. A few years ago, the Tigers had new ownership [sound familiar] and let go Ernie Harwell [their long-time announcer], and after much uproar and petitions around the Motor City, Harwell got his job back. So fellow LARP and Dodger fans who have much more pull in this city than I do, I challenge you, I ask you to voice your opinion. This Web site is a petition to let Ross fans speak their mind.” www.petitiononline.com/LAPORTER/petition.html“That's been the way it works since the O'Malley family sold the team. Ross indeed deserved much more,” offered Ed Arnold. Los Angeles Radio People-October 26, 2004
